ARCANE were formed in 1986 amidst the burgeoning Texas Metal scene alongside bands such as Watchtower, Solitude Aeturnus, Pantera, and Helstar, to name just a few. It wasn't until 1988 that the band would begin to hit their stride with the recording of their first demo, "Mirror of Deception". With "Mirror..." the band would begin building their following outside of their home state (thanks to the tape-trading circuit of the time) helping them build an international fan base. The band also further grew their base by supporting touring bands such as Fates Warning, Sanctuary, Forbidden and Death Angel.

In 1989 the band would record a second demo which ultimately secured them a deal with Wild Rags! Records, who would release the bands one and only album "Destination Unknown" in 1990. Though the band received strong sales and rave reviews (as well as demoing songs for a second album) the band began to fall apart, releasing one last demo in 1994, "Ambiguity".

With this 2014 deluxe edition 2-CD set, all of the bands studio recordings have been included (the two 80's demos having been remixed by original drummer Jim King), fully remastered and featuring a 20 page booklet.
